Music Re-Imagined

Let the music live in you!

Leisha Kaye

Leisha is the bands lead vocalist. She’s well known in local music circles as "A lady who can belt the blues" but can also sweetly craft a ballad. Her musical sense brilliantly leads the audience on a trip through a wide variety of music.

Steve Pelkey

Acoustic and Electric Guitars, Vocals

“Pelks” is a prolific and sought after musician. Playing guitar is one of his life’s passions. The number of guitars in his collection is only exceeded by the number of bands that count on him... especially One Night Stand.

JJ Johnson

Keyboards, Guitar, Mando and Percussion

"JJ" is versatile performer and brings a wealth of experience. We appreciate his many talents musically with arrangements and with music technology. He’s got a ton of stories about working with famous people...fair warning ....don’t get him started.

Jon Belanger

Fretless Bass and Electric Upright Bass

As the founder of "One Night Stand" Jon has been passionate about bringing an eclectic mix to the band's music since 2009. He's responsible for holding down the low end with both electric and electric upright basses. Motorcycling, auto racing, and traveling are some of Jon's hobbies.

Mike Owen

Drums and Percussion

One of the originial members of the ONS band, Mike sits in on the drums when schedules allow as he also drums in other local bands. You can also find him behind the Lord Of Life Lutheran Church's drum set on almost any given Sunday. "It's all about finding the band's groove and connection. When you get there, it's magical. We all strive to find our groove!"

Biography imageBiography image

One Night Stand was formed in January of 2009 as a way to help the non-profit organization Viva Musica raise money to keep music in Minnesota schools. The original members were all part of Lord of Life church bands and are pictured on the accompanying poster. Our one time performance was at the Five Event Center of Minneapolis on February 20, 2009.

One year later (January 22, 2010) we performed again for Viva Musica this time at Spill the Wine in Minneapolis. It was a great success and we were encouraged to keep the band together for at least one more year.

We brought our music to our own backyard by performing at Zorbaz on Gull, September 17, 2011. Once again we partnered with Viva Musica to raise money and donations of new and used musical instruments to be donated to schools across Minnesota.

The band took a much needed break and was downsized to our current configuration, The first performance for the leaner, meaner One Night Stand was at The Side Track in Brainerd... that was January 17, 2019.
